DAY 2: My plans for the day? GO NO WHERE! I get up early because my job has a conference call at 9am to discuss the project plan status and how we are going to plan for the Monday coming up. The call lasts about 1.5 hours. I am impressed by how the different parts of the department I work in are coming together to do so much work in a limited amount of time. I am assigned few tasks so as soon as the call is over I get to work. I stop to eat briefly but that is it. I put in about 5 or 6 hours of work. Soon as my part is done I take a TV break. Nothing on but the scary news. I start doing laundry and start thinking about the coming week, and what are some of the activities I can do prevent total boredom. I come up with short list. Here are some ideas:
- Clean my loft like a germaphobe would
- Play video games
- Catch up on some shows like “HomeLand” and “Curb your enthusiasm”.
- Surf the net
- Check in on friends, make sure they are not sick
- Build a workout from home routine
- Reorganize my vinyl collection
- Engineer a new dj mix, thinking classic house and maybe 90’s R&B
- Finish an audio book
- Play more video games
- Watch some movies
- Organize workspace area
- Take naps
- Update website
- Eat smart
I figured this is a good start. I finish my laundry and in a daze and on autopilot, I start to iron my button shirts for the week. After ironing 2 shirts I realize I am going to be working from home and this is not needed. I have a good laugh but that quickly turns to self disappointment and I exhale deeply thinking this is going to be a long next few weeks.
